Design Your AR Canvas
Helpful Tips
What type of image works best for Augmented Reality?
To ensure your custom AR canvas experience works perfectly, choose images with distinct features, high contrast, and clear edges. Avoid images that are monotone, consist mostly of gradient blends, or are low in detail. Uniform and repetitive patterns do not work well either. The best images are unique, with well-defined shapes and clear edges that the AR app can easily recognize.
What image and video formats are accepted?
• Images: PNG, JPG, WebP, and AVIF files are accepted
• Videos: MP4, MOV, and WebM files are accepted
But please note that format support is browser-dependent. If you encounter any issues, we recommend trying Chrome as it has the widest support of formats compared to other browsers.
What is the recommended resolution for my uploads?
Images: You can upload images of almost any size, and we will resize them for you.
Using very large images isn’t a requirement, as we will upscale them with a focus on preserving detail. However, images shouldn’t be too small (360 pixel minimum), as they need enough detail to look good on a larger canvas.
Videos: Use the highest quality resolution you can, but the file size must be under 200MB and the length must be under 90 seconds.
How long can my video be?
The best AR experiences typically use videos or animations that are around 20 to 40 seconds long. But we accept videos up to 90 seconds in length. Shorter videos tend to create more engaging and seamless experiences.
How do I position my uploads within the frame?
Using your mouse or finger, drag each upload within the frames to adjust its position. Depending on the aspect ratio, you’ll be able to move the image either up-and-down or side-to-side to ensure it fits perfectly on your canvas.
Will my image be upscaled to retain quality?
Yes, we use an upscaling tool specifically focused on preserving details in addition to resizing your image to fit the selected canvas size. The upscaling ensures your image retains its quality when printed on a larger canvas.
Will my canvas include a QR code near the bottom?
Yes, all canvases come with a colorful and stylized 2.5-inch QR code near the bottom of the image. This QR code is essential for adding the AR experience for that specific canvas to your app.
What are the specs and materials used for my canvas?
Sturdy 1.5-Inch Gallery Depth, Full Gallery Wrapped, and Ready to Hang: Mounted on a robust 1.5-inch frame for a professional look, and finished using a hard backing with pre-drilled holes so it's ready to hang right out of the box

Is shipping included in the price of my custom canvas?
